Hello Belvidere families!  I am so happy to be a new member of your close-knit district!  I have had such a warm welcome so far and could not be happier as your new full-time School Counselor!

My husband, Rob, and I live in White Township with our two daughters, Raeghan (5 yr. old) and Gemma (2 yrs. old) along with our cat, Clubber!

I have been enjoying every moment of getting to know all of you.  I encourage you to contact me at any time!  My door is always open!!!

What does Mrs. Tierney do?
Counseling services provided:
  • Classroom lessons --Throughout the year I will be going in to meet with students as a class to offer lessons on: Social, Emotional Learning (SEL), Character Education, School Success (study skills, organizational strategies, self-advocacy), conflict resolution-problem solving, etc.
  • 1:1 Counseling -- meant for students to share their concerns or through a referral from parent/teacher/administration.
  • Small Groups -- all will be informed ahead of time if they would like to participate in a small group that I might be running.  May change year -to-year based on the needs of the students.
  • Crisis intervention
  • Collaboration/consultation with parents, teachers and administration
  • Referrals for community resources.

*Please be aware that school counseling is short term and solution-focused.  Services are not meant to replace therapy and outside referrals may be suggested when deemed necessary.

Need to Talk?

As your school counselor, I am available to discuss pretty much anything!  I am in the office during regular school hours from 7:50am - 2:20pm.  Since we are currently operating on a shortened schedule, I encourage students to find me before school begins at 8:05am or after school ends at 12:20pm (unless it is an emergency) as to not miss any core academic classes.  I am also available to chat virtually if you prefer!   Simply call, email, or visit my office(I am currently located in the
Oxford Street faculty room).
