Hello Belvidere families!  I am so excited to be starting my 6th year!  Belvidere is such an amazing place to work and I thoroughly enjoy each moment spent with your children.  My door is ALWAYS open, so  I encourage you all to reach out whenever you need me!

What does Mrs. Tierney do?
Counseling services provided:
  • Classroom lessons --Throughout the year I will be going in to meet with students as a class to offer lessons on: Social, Emotional Learning (SEL), Character Education, School Success (study skills, organizational strategies, self-advocacy), conflict resolution-problem solving, etc.
  • 1:1 Counseling -- meant for students to share their concerns or through a referral from parent/teacher/administration.
  • Small Groups -- all will be informed ahead of time if they would like to participate in a small group that I might be running.  Groups may change year -to-year based on the needs of the students.
  • Crisis intervention
  • Collaboration/consultation with parents, teachers and administration
  • Referrals for community resources.

*Please be aware that school counseling is short term and solution-focused.  Services are not meant to replace therapy and outside referrals may be suggested when deemed necessary.

Need to Talk?

As your school counselor, I am available to discuss pretty much anything!  I am in the office during regular school hours from 7:50am - 2:30pm.  I encourage students to find me any way they feel comfortable.  They can find me in my office (Behind Mrs. G.), ask their teachers to contact me or simply email.
